"Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened."
Anatole France
The Manatees and their cousins, the Dugongs descended from four-footed land mammals some 60 million years ago. Their closest living relatives are elephants and the Hyrax. They can be found in the waters of Florida, as well as in Africa, the Indian Ocean and the Amazon River. They weigh between 880 and 3,900 pounds!
For all this size and weight, they are super gentle plant eaters. They are slow moving, peaceful creatures.
What do they wish to share with us?
Why do they want to communicate with us now?
Come join our Pack this Wednesday for a fascinating conversation!
