"Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened."
Anatole France
Happy August! This week we'll have the pleasure of hearing from the Coyote Council.
The other day this large, tawny colored "dog" passed through our green space. I was sure it was a dog due to it's size. it was quite large compared to the Colorado coyotes I'm familiar with. But when I made a "calling noise" and it turned to look at me, the energy was completely different. I have since learned that the eastern coyote has interbreed with wolves, which would account for it's larger size and bigger head. And there are at least 7,500 in Vermont. How about that?
Who was this visitor?
Coyote features prominently in the stories and histories of native peoples in North and South America. They are resourceful and adaptable, living everywhere from national parks and wild lands to the suburbs and city parks in San Francisco and Brooklyn, NY.
Join us this week for a wonderful visit with this wise, canny, funny, and sacred "Trickster."
Kate Solisti is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.
